Our Beliefs

Our “Why”

We believe that the chief end of man is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever. We do this by striving to love God and to love our neighbor (Matthew 22:36-40).

Our “Who”

Rowan is a member of the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church (ARPC)

Rowan, particularly, is a family church that has a focus on teaching and worship. Fellowship and evangelism are part of our week and we are given ample opportunities for acts of mercy within the community.

The ARP Denomination

The ARP denomination (Associate Reformed Presbyterian) was formed over 200 years ago when two Scottish Presbyterian churches came together in America. The first group was called the “Succeeders” or the “Associates” and the second was called the “Covenanters” or “Reformed”. The ARPC holds the Bible as our only rule of faith and practice. The ARPC has governing documents such as the Form of Government, the Directory of Public Worship, and our theological convictions align with the Westminster Confession of Faith

We believe:

  1. The worship of the Triune God.
  2. The Bible is the basis for our faith and activity.
  3. Unity with other believers in Christ.
  4. Total stewardship of life (giving our time, talents, and treasure).
  5. Striving for excellence in education and equipping saints for service.
  6. Loving and caring for one another and for other people.
  7. Spreading the Gospel to all parts of the world.
